Questions

Bathroom Renovation: the short answers.

How much does bathroom renovation cost?
With Zigma Group, bathroom renovation starts from $12,500, and most projects fall between $13,500 and $26,000. Prices are in Canadian dollars before HST, as of October 2026, and are confirmed after a site visit. The main factors are size of the room and amount of tile; moving the toilet, drain or shower position; and custom glass, heated floors and fixture quality.
Can you convert a bathtub into a walk-in shower?
Yes. The tub is removed, the drain is adapted, the floor is sloped and waterproofed, and the walls are tiled. It is one of the most common bathroom changes we make.
Do I need a permit to renovate a bathroom in Ontario?
Not usually for replacing fixtures where they are. A permit is usually needed to add a bathroom or relocate plumbing. We confirm the rule for your municipality.
Why does the bathroom need to be stripped to the studs?
It lets us inspect and fix the plumbing, framing and any hidden water damage, and install continuous waterproofing. Tiling over old surfaces hides problems that return later.
