Window and Door Replacement in the GTA
New windows and doors change both how a house looks and how warm it stays. We replace existing units and, where the design calls for it, cut larger openings for more light.

- Front entry doors and sidelights
- Structural lintels over wider openings

What to know.
Permits
Replacing a window or door with one of the same size usually needs no building permit. Making an opening larger or adding a new one is a structural change and usually does.
Installation matters
Most drafts and leaks come from how a window is installed, not from the unit. Flashing, air sealing and insulation around the frame are what we pay attention to.
Windows near the lot line
Building Code limits the amount of glass on walls close to a neighbouring property, which can restrict new side windows.

Questions
Window and Door Replacement: the short answers.
- How much does window and door replacement cost?
- The cost of window and door replacement depends on the size and condition of the house and the finishes chosen, so we price it after a site visit. Call +1 (647) 718-3913 for a quote.
- Do I need a permit to replace windows in Ontario?
- Not usually for same-size replacements. You usually need one to enlarge an opening or create a new one. We confirm with your municipality.
- Can a window be turned into a patio door?
- Yes. The wall below the window is removed and, if the opening gets wider, a new lintel is installed. It is a common change at the back of the house.
- What should I look for in a replacement window?
- A frame and glass package rated for the Ontario climate, and above all a careful installation with proper flashing and air sealing.
